About Us!
The Second Chronicle Singers popularly known as “Sechron” was established on October 15, 1999 at the Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Pasay City. With nine original members drawn from the church’s different organizations the group started its ministry singing every 6:15 and 7:30 evening Sunday masses. Sechron is composed of musically inclined and talented young professionals and students driven by their great passion in singing and serving the Lord.
As part of expanding their spiritual network, the group participated in different church activities and performed in various occasions such as Sambuhay TV Masses aired by the Society of Saint Paul, Misa De Gallo and Missa De Aguinaldo at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Holy Eucharist Celebration for the 20th year Anniversary of the Philippine Catholic Bible Society presided by none other than the Archbishop of Manila Most Rev. Fr. Luis Antonio Tagle held at the Society of Saint Paul, Makati.
To further hone their craft and gear towards performance excellence, Sechron participated in several competitions around the Metro: 1st Runner-up, Gospel Music Philippines Chorale Competition Season 2 (March 2007); Finalist, Musica FEUROPA 2011 & 2012; Semi-Finalist, MBC Paskong Pinoy National Chorale Competition 2011 & 2012 held at Star Theater, Star City; 1st-runner-up, Vianneyhan II: A Choral Competition; 1st Runner-up & Best in Costume Awardee , Awiting kay Gleeng! 2; and Grand Champion and Internet Popularity Awardee in Wir Feiern V Novelty Song Fest: A Choral Competition last November 2012 held at the Amoranto Theater, Quezon City.
They have also been invited by different chorales for festivals and concerts: "WIR FEIERN I" Choral Fest Organized by Gloria Patri Singers at the Most Holy Trinity Parish Church, A benefit concert of Kammerchor Manila at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Quezon City, “Art in Action” with the De La Salle University Chorale at DLSU, Manila and most recently a Christmas Concert with the Saint John Bosco Chorale, Mr. Andrew Fernando and the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra.
With the guidance of their choirmaster Mr. Kelvin Dela Cruz Kabigting, Sechron is strengthened by its mission of serving the community through ministry singing and continuously working together in harmony towards excellence and professionalism.
